Have you seen our new bench and noticeboard?
The new memorial bench and parish council noticeboard, bought with grants from Leicestershire County Council's Members Highways Fund, have now been installed in Oaks Road.
They look fantastic, and we hope that parishioners will enjoy using them.

Snow Wardens wanted!
Would you like to be a snow warden for the Oaks in Charnwood area? Leicestershire County Council are hoping to recruit a team of volunteers to carry our this role. Full training will be given.

Lamp Light of Peace for D-Day 80
On the evening of Thursday 6th of June 2024 at 9:15 pm, representatives from Charley Parish Council lit a Lamp Light of Peace to mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
Bells rang out from the church ahead of this.
Thank you to all who came and supported this occasion, particularly the PCC of St James the Greater Church and the bellringers of Loughborough and Barrow upon Soar.

D-Day 80 Lamp Light of Peace to be lit at 9:15pm
We will be lighting a Lamp of Peace at 9:15pm today (6th of June) to mark the 8oth anniversary of D-Day.
The lamp will be outside St James the Greater Church, Oaks Road.
All are most welcome to join us to mark this important moment.
The bells of St James the Greater will ring out from 8:30pm, in advance of the lamp lighting.
